Hi there! I am a scholar with an interdisciplinary research background in medieval history, Christian intellectual histories, liberation theologies, queer theory, critical theory, social media, phenomenology, affect theory, auto-theory, and linguistic theory. My interests are varied, covering the uses of the past, the status of theology in the university, theology as an act of wonder, neo-coloniality, imagination, eroticism as historical method, and our experiences of ruins.
One of my goals for my academic career is to travel. I enjoy conferences in new places, especially international ones where I get to meet people from across the world, present and exchange ideas, and to learn about academia and scholarship done outside the North American context. I have presented work in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Oxford University, and the Sorbonne, in addition to a variety of places across the United States.
I am located in Chicago, having completed my doctoral work at Loyola University Chicago in 2025. I can usually be found at a coffee shop or craft brewery in my free time, and I have come to enjoy a few evenings of Magic: The Gathering, having been introduced to it earlier this year. I am also leading a book club called Books, Bites & Buzz. See what we’re reading starting this January!
